In 1984 lightening struck the south transept and burned it down. When rebuilt, a children's TV show had a competition for new "bosses" or carved medallions on the ceiling. Here is one of the 6 winners.
Some of the stained glass windows, of the 128, date back to the 12th century.

Bell maker above. While others, such as the Great West Window, or "Heart of Yorkshire," represent the heart of Christ.
Rose Window commenorates the end of the War of Roses and to honor the Tudors.
